High Wycombe-based Select Moulds took the opportunity of Euromold to sign up for membership of the GTMA.

Simon Collins, MD, commented, "Select Moulds is very much a "tooling solutions" business, so GTMA's concept-to-component supply-chain philosophy chimes very well with our own view of how the market is developing." Select Moulds, which has trialing and development facilities, including twin shot and gas injection, works closely with its moulding and OEM customers to provide the most appropriate tooling solution for each particular project.

This partnership approach can substantially shorten the new product development cycle time, as Collins explains: "Because we make a point of recommending the best solution, even if it doesn't involve producing the tool ourselves, customers can rest assured that the project will be delivered precisely to their specifications and within their budget.

We get involved with the process as early as possible, so important decisions about tooling are better-informed and new product development time is reduced.

We manage the risks that are normally taken on by the moulder or OEM so that they can concentrate on other factors." This approach has proved extremely successful and the Select Moulds has now brought injection moulding in-house to extend the range of services it offers to its customers, mainly in the telecoms, automotive, white goods consumer electronics and business machine markets.
