Even more importantly, when searchers follow the GTMA link they go directly to the names of the relevant GTMA member companies.
GTMA CEO Julia Moore, commented: "These days the Web is one of the first places buyers go when they are researching their purchasing options, but few of them have the time to search beyond the first few pages of results.
Even very large companies find it difficult to maintain a front page presence on search engines such as Google, and for SMEs the task is almost impossible.
We see it as part of GTMA's role to assist members in their marketing efforts and that very much includes the benefits they can obtain from the GTMA website, so we are delighted to be able to demonstrate such major success in this area." GTMA estimates that some 80% of the products and service categories in the Buyers Guide are now on the first page of Google results, and of those, in the region of 80% are in the first three.
In some cases the link to the member's GTMA Profile entry is itself on the first page, for example searching for 'bore gauges' GTMA member Yorkshire Precision Gauge's profile is 3rd while searching for 'Tooling Technologies' brings Rojac's GTMA profile page to 3rd position.
Even more impressive is the result for the search phrase 'specialist welding' where the GTMA Profile entry for ABR is ranked first out of 103,000 results.
In addition, GTMA continues to achieve first position for general search enquiries "Press Tools" and "Mould and Die" and, since the last survey before Christmas, the GTMA website has also taken first position for the phrases 'metrology equipment' and 'metrology services'.
