Drills with radius point geometry and through-coolant have a balance of face contour and flute profile to provide extreme rigidity, dimensional accuracy and process reliability.

New materials require new tooling solutions As an innovative tool manufacturer, Guhring has always followed this concept and reacted to the increasing application of CGI (compacted graphite iron) and ADI (austempered ductile iron) by introducing the RT 100 R Ratio drill as a special tool in 2004

At EMO 2005 in Hanover, Guhring presented RT 100 R as a standard range tool in the diameter range from 3.00 to 20.00mm for drilling depths to 5 x D and 7 x D.

RT 100 R is provided with internal cooling and is FIRE-coated for optimal machining results.

Thanks to its radius point geometry with international patent pending, RT 100 R offers highest performance and economic efficiency for the machining of these new materials as well as conventional cast materials such as grey, spheroidal and malleable cast iron.

With its unique balance of face contour and flute profile it provides extreme rigidity, dimensional accuracy and process reliability.

In addition, RT 100 R naturally remains available from Guhring as a customer specific special tool with or with-out internal cooling, application orientated coatings or as step drill.

RT 100 R drills are especially suitable for MQL applications.

Therefore, Guhring recommends equipping the tool with a tapered MQL shank end and applying the Guhring MQL screw and MQL components.
