Guyson International Ltd is celebrating the award of a large order from the world's largest automotive component design and manufacturing company Delphi Automotive.

Guyson has been specified as the systems supplier of 24 aqueous washing and drying machines for a new Delphi factory in Hungary.

Delphi Automotive was formerly part of the USA giant General Motors (GM) car and truck company and has sales in excess of $29 billion around the globe of car components and full sub-system parts of vehicles.

The new Delphi state of the art manufacturing facility opens in 2001 producing air conditioning compressors to meet the needs of the worlds leading car and MPV assemblers.

Guyson will be providing machines for the specialist cleaning of the compressor components within the machining shop prior to assembly, as well as post assembly washers.

Guyson International Ltd, headquartered in Skipton, North Yorkshire, is the largest UK private company in the blast cleaning and industrial washing business.

The company has a technical and demonstration centre in France and a distributor network throughout Europe.

The company also boasts a subsidiary company in the United States that positions it in the ideal locations to meet the needs of the global automotive industry.

Richard Standing, Business Development Manager says "Guyson was awarded the contract against fierce competition from both USA and European suppliers.

The ability of Guyson to manage a project on this scale was a key factor in our success along with our ability to support the clients technical, commercial and manufacturing teams in three different countries.

The innovative concepts in design of the wash plant to fit right into the machining cells was a major benefit to Delphi in achieving their lean manufacturing goals." To meet the exacting requirements of Delphi, Guyson developed a new aqueous cleaning system called the Cellmate 200.

The new innovative Cellmate 200 features a two stage wash and dry process, operating at cleanliness levels in the order of microns.

The machine has a unique component handling system, which gives great benefits in reduced operator handling and dramatically reduces the space required with more traditional cleaning processes.

Twenty-one of the Cellmate 200 machines will be supplied along with 3 Guyson Marr-line tunnel washers over an 18-month period of time.
