Plastics tote bins, up to 400mm wide can now be washed, rinsed and thoroughly dried at rates of up to 60 bins per hour using a completely new, fully conveyorised, automatic three-stage, aqueous based cleaning system recently designed and built by surface cleaning machinery specialists Guyson International Limited.

Many innovative features have been incorporated within the system to produce consistent high standards of cleanliness on all the large, flat and irregular surfaces usually associated with plastic tote bins.

Assorted bin sizes are passed at a constant predetermined speed through a sequence of three stainless steel process chambers to be washed, rinsed and dried.

High pressure spraying and greater cleaning of the surface is provided by high capacity pumps delivering heated washing and rinsing solutions at a rate of 100 litres per minute at 60 psi.

Filtration of both solutions ensures a virtual contamination-free surface and very fine needles of swarf are removed from the rinse solution by a superfine 12 micron size filter.

Carryover of excess solution from chamber to chamber is minimised to prolong both the life of the and rinse solutions and to assist drying performance.

Most customers demand dry tote bins on exit and this requirement is met by a combination of air knifes and a final heated air oven, all housed inside the machine.
