Silicon handling problem for small parts
solved

To overcome the problems experienced with handling silicone whilst trying to coat small components, Guyson International have created a special version of the Formula 950 Rotary Washer.

To overcome the problems experienced with handling silicone whilst trying to coat small components, Guyson International have created a special version of their successful Formula 950 Rotary Washer A typical usage is coating rubber grommets used for electrical installations in silicone to reduce conductivity and hence remove the possibility of electrical sparks

Other uses are coating rubber seals used in plastic pipe joints to reduce friction, increase resistance to chemicals and extend shelf life.

Totally fabricated from stainless steel, including pump and all pipe-work, the special compact three-stage immerse, spray and dry machine is designed to handle high volumes of mass produced metal, rubber or plastic components, which need gentle turning throughout the coating process This new version Formula 950 uses a variable speed, 380mm diameter, helicoidal stainless steel drum to tumble up to 200kg of components per hour through a three-stage process along its 1.75 metre length.

Components enter the system at a height of 910mm from either a conveyor or by manual loading.

First stage in the process is flood coating as parts are turned through the unperforated section followed by the second stage in the perforated section, where they are sprayed by a series of high intensity V-spray jets that deliver the appropriate coating solution.

The spray impinges on all surfaces of the components as they are turned and then hot air blown in the turbo drying chamber prior to discharge.

To maintain coating efficiency, a new lever operated drum cleaning feature has been introduced to flush out residual deposits from both perforated and unperforated sections after component-coating operations have ceased. Request a free brochure from Guyson International ...
