A new specialised pressure fed blast-cleaning system for deburring this threaded area has been produced by surface finishing machinery manufacturers Guyson International.
Capable of handling and processing tubular metal components up to 375mm in diameter, in lengths of up to 2 metres, and in loads weighing up to 1 tonne, the system features a Guyson Euroblast Plus 9PF pressure fed blast cleaning cabinet with an integrated side loading conveyor designed to assist the lateral and rotational movement of the rod both inside and outside the blast chamber.
Single lengths of rod are lifted on to the external section of the conveyor and moved along a series of V-rollers through a 375mm side aperture into a large blast chamber measuring 1200mm wide by 1200mm deep and 1325mm high.
The rod is then lifted clear of the V-rollers by a series of pneumatic rollers that enable the operator to manually rotate the rod for complete blast coverage.
One threaded end is deburred during the first pass after which the rod is returned to its original position, turned around and passed again into the cabinet for the second end to be completed.
Shorter lengths of rod and couplings up to 1 metre may be handled directly within the confines of the blast chamber and rotated on a 900mm-diameter turntable fitted with interchangeable rollers.
A craneage slot in the roof allows heavy and bulky items to be either positioned centrally on the turntable or suspended from the crane hoist during blast cleaning operations. Request a free brochure from Guyson International ...
