Blast cleaning improves automotive trim
bonding
Using blast cleaning machines to prepare joint surfaces improves the bonding of wood veneers, leather, rubber and other non-metallic materials to automotive interior superstructure components.
Several recent installations of Guyson Euroblast machines have been to leading automotive interior manufacturers to improve the bonding of wood veneers, leather, rubber etc to interior super-structure components Effective bonding is helped immeasurably with a fine surface etch of the host material, which is often plastic

Keying surface produced for anodising
When Bodycote a world leader in metal technology, were faced with a demanding finishing problem, coupled with an extremely tight delivery deadline, they approached Guyson International for help.
An excellent machine to provide this surface etch has proved to be the Euroblast 10PF.
This machine provides the internal space for larger trim components to be manoeuvred easily, especially with the turntable option, whilst providing all the blast power and ease of operator access required.
Etching takes place inside the 1480mm wide, 1480mm deep and 1145mm high sealed cabinet and is undertaken with the Guyson model 900 gun that delivers a high media flow, perfect for etching large surface areas.
Large armholes give the operator maximum flexibility for reaching areas inside the cabinet and the foot operated blast guns allows both hands free for object and gun manipulation.
The blast finishing of plastic can generate static build up and the machine, gun hose, media transport, media separator and dust collection systems all are carefully earthed bonded to prevent operational problems - no difficulty for an experienced supplier like Guyson.
A Guyson pressure fed blast system is a very aggressive tool and when charged with an abrasive media can literally blast holes in solid metal, so all the machines sold for undertaking this type of work are specified with rubber lined cabinets, polyurethane coated turntable, polyurethane lined cyclones and rigid polyurethane ducting.
A must for production machines that will be operating double day shifts, minimum five days a week.
Finishing the specification is anti-static mat for the operator to stand on, manual air wash, high quality internal lighting - coupled with efficient dust extraction allowing excellent operator visibility and a sealed perforated floor sieves out any oversize contaminants to prevent any media flow trouble.
The Euroblast 10 is just one of range of seven standard sized cabinets available from Guyson International.
Prospective users of its manual or automated blast systems are encouraged to submit sample components for free feasibility testing to the company's extensive development workshop at Skipton, England. Request a free brochure from Guyson International ...
