Blast clean coating overspray from jigs,
fixtures
When jigs and fixtures are encrusted with overspray from a PVD/CVD coating process, they can be quickly and efficiently cleaned back to their original condition with blast cleaning equipment.
One of the world's largest producers of high speed steel cutting tools recently installed a Guyson Multiblast RSB blast machine for cleaning off 'overspray' from its drill holding fixtures which become encrusted with coating when its drills are PVD coated This new blast cleaning process has the added potential advantage of removing from the workplace the less than environmentally friendly process of 'acid dipping', often employed for this coating removal

This gave a perfect clean finish in the required time, with virtually no operator involvement apart from load and unloads, leaving the operator to perform other duties.
The coated fixtures are positioned manually on a specialised fixture; stacked up-to three-high for maximum throughout and located on a single rotating spindle in the centre of the rubber lined blast chamber.

Quality cleaning for metal worked components
Metal-worked aluminium components are literally singled out for individual treatment by a new, aqueous based, three stage, wash rinse and dry system from Guyson International.
The fixtures rotate at a controlled, adjustable speed and are then grit blasted from three model 900 Guyson guns vertically traversing up and down the outside of the components.
These are set at a correct pre-positioned angle and distance to achieve overall coverage of the target surfaces whilst they rotate on the spindle under a constant stream of Guyson Brown Saftigrit Alumina.
This quickly and efficiently removes the coating from the fixtures and finally an automated traversing airwash, leaves them in a clean state ready for reuse.
This Multiblast system in common with most automated shot blast systems manufactured by Guyson is fitted with a PLC/HMI.
This gives full operational control over virtually all machine variables and enables through a simple menu system for a 'recipe' to be set-up with differing process requirements such as traverse, oscillation and airwash speed, start and finish gun positions etc These 'recipes' can be recalled and used to speedily reset-up the machine so as to enable a range of varied components to be processed in a repeatable fashion.
Completing the blast system is an efficient reverse jet pulse cleaning dust collector.
The dust collector being matched to the operational capacity anticipated and takes account of the volume of air fed into the system, the chamber dimensions, workflow, media type and break-down rate.
