Ultrasonics cleans up wood saw blades
Industrial ultrasonic tanks provide fast and effective cleaning for all kinds of wood saw blades, hoggers, profile cutting tools, routers, and drills.
Industrial ultrasonic tanks supplied by Guyson International provide fast and effective cleaning for all kinds of wood saw blades, hoggers, profile cutting tools, routers, and drills After prolonged use of cutting wood, saw blades build up pitch, sap, resin and other wood-based materials that stick to the teeth and blade body

Keying surface produced for anodising
When Bodycote a world leader in metal technology, were faced with a demanding finishing problem, coupled with an extremely tight delivery deadline, they approached Guyson International for help.
If the material is not regularly cleaned off, the build up may increase friction, heat which makes the problem worse and then can cause the blade to warp or distort.
So the chances of sticking or kickback grow in number.
Efficient cleaning ensures clean, sharp and effective cutting.

Guyson in the Swing
The makers of Ping golf clubs contacted Guyson Corporation of America to do tests on dozens of alternative surface finishes to assist in the manufacturer's quest for a perfect finish.
Blade cleaning is much easier done on a regular basis, before the accumulation becomes too thick or baked on by the heat it generates.
Frequent blade cleaning, said Guyson to manufacturingtalk.com, will also improve performance and help extend useable cutting life.
But the problem can be exacerbated by the wrong type of cleaning.
Using a metal scraper or wire brush can produce thousands of minute scratches to the blade surface.
The scratching allows more material to stick to blade and make the situation worse.
One alternative involves hard manual scrubbing over long periods with nylon pads and common household cleaners.
Another is to use more aggressive spray-on caustic solutions that may corrode the blade surface.
There is the option of soaking the blades or tools overnight in highly flammable liquids - not environmentally friendly.
Guyson International's solution to the problem is to use ultrasonic cleaning.
Guyson's industrial quality Pulsatron KS tanks use ultrasonics, controlled heat and a mildly alkaline detergent solution to clean the saw blades safely and effectively.
An immesion period of 30-60s is normally long enough to remove resins and saps from a wide variety of saw blades and cutting tools.
Guyson said it dramatically reduces maintenance downtime and with the minimum of effort.
KS tanks may also be used with a phosphoric acid detergent to remove surface corrosion.
* Operation - the saw blades or cutting tools are placed into the wire basket and then lowered into the tank for cleaning.
Once finished, the blades are lifted out, dried, and are ready to use.
Exact cleaning times and temperatures can be preset on Pulsatron KS tanks , ensuring consistent levels of cleanliness from batch to batch.
A simple four-button membrane keypad controls all functions.
An LCD panel displays the temperature and time set by the user, the time elapsed since the start of the cleaning process, and the status of the power supply, heater and ultrasonics.
Each unit works within operating temperatures from 20 to 80 deg C, which can be set in 1 deg increments.
The arrangement allows selection of the optimum temperature for a combination of component material, cleaning solution and contaminant.
Sonics time may be set in the range 0.1 up to 99.9 minutes in 0.1 min increments, or to constant when sonics may be switched on and off manually.
Automatic safety devices include non-operation of sonics if solution temperature is more than 10 deg C above set temperature, and low-level protection to prevent heater burn-out if solution level drops.
KS ultrasonic tanks come in a range of sizes including standard KS tanks up to 248 litre capacity.
Larger sizes are available to special order.
