Brecon-based fascia and labels specialist GSM Primographic has been rewarded for its commitment to staff development with the presentation of the Investors in People Award.
The achievement was marked by a visit from Brecon MP Roger Williams, who toured the factory on Ffrwdgrech Industrial Estate on Monday morning.
GSM Primographic specialises in labels, nameplates and surface finishes.
Its customers include most of the major automotive manufacturers in Europe, along with key electrical goods brands such as Sharp, Hotpoint and Creda.
Williams told the gathering that the company, which has quadrupled its turnover in the past six years and now employs 80 people, played an important part in the local economy.
He said manufacturing was important in Brecon because it offered a different range of jobs and skills.
GSM Primographic general manager Andrew Farthing said: "Achieving Investors in People is a key part of our business strategy.
Our success depends on our team and developing our people is the way that we will continue to grow the business." The company produces a range of labels and anti-vibration products for the automotive sector, winning a major contract from Jaguar recently to add to its portfolio that includes products for Land Rover, Saab, Ford, General Motors, MG Rover, Nissan and Bentley.
The Brecon factory is producing more than 120 parts for Jaguar, including vehicle identification nameplates (VINs), tyre labels and security products.
It produces labels and nameplates in substrates ranging from removable materials to void polyesters.
It has also developed a range of products for the domestic appliance market, including control panels and knobs for cookers, as well as oven door assemblies and microwave oven components.
Following the introduction of a new microwave fascia for Sharp, a night shift has been introduced to accommodate production volumes.
GSM Primographic is part of the GSM Group, one of Europe's largest manufacturers of printed labels and nameplates in metals and plastics, which also has manufacturing sites in Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and Yorkshire.
