Re-circulating linear roller guideways are dovetailed throughout their length, minimizing friction and thermal movement, reducing wear and increasing the useful life of the drives.
The hardened and ground ballscrews for all three axes are 50mm in diameter with a 16mm pitch are guided at each end by precision angular contact bearings.
The main spindle and all three axes have digital drives.
Accurate positioning of the vertical head is ensured by a pneumatic counter weight located at the front of the column.
Machine weight is 10,000kg.
Structural rigidity is ensured by the finite element calculation method.
The machine is capable of both roughing and finishing operations.
Heavy stock removal is made possible due to the 35kW of power and 162Nm of torque provided by the build in rotor-stator head.
Feed and rotational speeds of up to 15,000 rev/min are provided by the main spindle.
Maximum traverse is 30m/min in all three axes; acceleration in each axis is 3m/s2.
Chip-to-chip time is 5 seconds.
Positional accuracy is 8(, repeatability 5( and resolution 1(.
Travel is 1500mm in X, 700 in Y, and 700 in Z.
Spindle taper is ISO40 with BT 40 as an option.
Tool capacity is 24, with 30 as an option.
The machine is offered with a Kesler spindle, ideal for mould and die applications.
Control is by the proven Heidenhain TNC530, options include the Fanuc 18i and the Fagor 8055 MC/B.
The new G Innova 15 was designed and developed in Goratu's own Technology Centre in Catalonia, northern Spain.
Commenting, Mark Randall of Goratu UK said "This powerful new machine is a very useful addition to the Goratu range and will meet the needs of customers who require production versatility combined with high accuracy.
Goratu is known for its strong, robust, reliable machines and the G Innova is within this philosophy.
Although the machine is only being introduced to the UK now, we have already seen significant levels of interest in it".
