Christie Selects Gennum's VXP Technology to Power New Generation of High Performance Projectors

Gennum Corporation has announced that Christie Digital Systems has designed the GF9350 image processor with VXP technology into 15 of their new high performance projectors.

Over the past year, Christie has introduced 15 new projectors covering Christie's entire range of markets.

This new platform of products is the result of Christie's continued investment in leading edge R and D and represents the largest number of new products Christie has ever introduced.

Producing stunning brightness, contrast and colour performance, these new projectors with VXP technology offer 10-bit image processing to provide superior image quality and the latest in adaptive de-interlacing for outstanding video performance.

Gennum's new Visual Excellence Processing (VXP) line of image processors offer revolutionary improvements over today's existing display IC solutions by integrating fourth generation broadcast quality algorithms.

Offering advanced display features, the GF9350 incorporates: TruMotionHD adaptive de-interlacing for optimal image sharpness for all formats up to 1080p60; FineEdge dynamic directional interpolation for eliminating jaggy artifacts found in traditional de-interlacing algorithms; FidelityEngine image enhancements for removing unwanted noise and improving detail for uncompromised image quality and RealityExpansion 10-bit processing for eye-catching natural imagery.

"We're quite pleased with the performance and capabilities of the VXP technology in our line up of new projectors and we are confident that they will meet the demanding needs of our customers." said Bob Rushby, VP, Research and Development at Christie.

"Christie's diverse portfolio of projectors across various markets showcases the GF9350's flexibility to function as a platform product from high-end digital cinema projectors all the way down to consumer level applications.

We were happy to work with a leader in the industry." said Dan Turow, Director, Image Processing at Gennum.
