Hardinge-Bridgeport to partake at MTI Live

A Hardinge Machine Tools product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Mar 21, 2005

Hardinge-Bridgeport Machine Tools will be demonstrating a Hardinge CNC Slant Bed lathe, a Bridgeport VMC and a Hardinge-Bridgeport manual turret mill at MTI Live.

Hardinge-Bridgeport Machine Tools, one of the world's biggest names in machine tool manufacture, has announced it will be taking part in MTI Live, the international exhibition for used machine tools, production and ancillary equipment, being held on 25-26 May 2005 at Stoneleigh Park in Coventry, UK.

It will be exhibiting examples from its stock of own brand used machines - specifically, a Hardinge CNC Slant Bed lathe, a Bridgeport vertical machining centre and a Hardinge-Bridgeport manual turret mill - and joining other leading suppliers of used machine tools in demonstrating the affordability of such high-quality used production technology.

The decision to take part in MTI Live is one of a number of strategic marketing decisions made by the company since its recent acquisition of the Bridgeport trade name, intellectual property rights and sales and support services divisions, from Bridgeport Machines in November 2004.

Sales and marketing director, David Andrew explains: "We are attending MTI Live to proactively fly the new Hardinge-Bridgeport flag at an influential industry event at a very important time for our company.

"The three machines on show represent only a small section of the product offering from the Hardinge-Bridgeport portfolio, but it will represent the main focus of our Used Machine Tool Division.

Headed up by our Service Manager, Clive Payne, he has set up the division to provide quality pre-owned products sold directly to end users, in exactly the same way as if they were buying new, with complete Hardinge-Bridgeport piece of mind!" Andrew continued: "Hardinge-Bridgeport is keen to increase its turret mill business with the Bridgeport Series 1 knee mill.

The product is now manufactured by Hardinge in Elmira NY in the USA.

The manual and CNC versions are a very important part of our product line up.

With more than 350,000 Series 1 machines installed worldwide over the past 60 years or so, there's obviously enormous potential for Hardinge-Bridgeport to support these users for the future.".
