High speed action offered for
drilling/tapping
Drill/tap centre, using 48m/min rapid traverse rates and 14 position turret-type tool magazine, offers high speed, short cycling performance for drilling, tapping and milling.
Targeting vertical spindle machining users wanting high speed, short cycling performance for drilling, tapping and milling, the Hardinge-Bridgeport 480 DT P3 has 15,000 rev/min direct drive spindle, 48m/min rapid traverse rates and 14 position turret-type tool magazine with an optional swing-arm 20 tool ATC available The machine is controlled via Fanuc's highly respected Oi-MC control

Drill/tap centres machine aluminium
Drill/tap machining centres are for use in the high-volume production of complex aluminium parts that require fast, reliable and cost-efficient drill/tap machining.
This new drill/tap centre has travels of 480mm in the X-axis, 400mm in Y and 430mm in Z with swing-arm ATC with 20 tools and 330mm in Z with the 14 tool turret version.
These dimensions provide a very useful machining envelope covered under rapid traverse at 48m/min achieved with an acceleration of 1G in X and Y and 0.8G in Z.
Positioning accuracy is +0.005mm and repeatability is 0.002mm.
Tool change time is 1.5s tool to tool for 40 taper units in the 14-position carousel unit fitted as standard.
However, with the larger capacity 20 tool magazine the tool change time is exceptionally fast at 0.8s.
Rigidity is paramount on this compact machine which uses high quality cast iron C-frame structure with a fixed column.
