Small footprint VMC has plenty of power
A compact Interact 450 P3 vertical machining centre for the subcontract machine shop offers a powerful, versatile machine on a small footprint.
New for EMO 2005 from Hardinge-Bridgeport was the compact Interact 450 P3 vertical machining centre aimed directly at the subcontract machine shop requiring a powerful, versatile machine on a small footprint that is able to provide an excellent return on the investment made The Interact 450 P3 was shown with Siemens 810D control and the 10,000 rev/min optional 10kW spindle drive is able to provide up to 47Nm of torque for effective cutting cycles
Constructed on a heavy duty cast iron base with cast iron column and spindle carrier giving axis travels of 450mm in X, 350mm in Y and 380mm in Z, it has a rapid traverse rate of 30m/min.
The work table is 600mm by 320mm and able to accept loads up to 200kg.
Up to 12 tools with 40 taper and up to 76mm diameter can be held in the carousel unit, and the machine package includes chip conveyor all within a floor area of 1995mm by 2543mm.
