Machine tool Open House brings GBP 550,000 orders
Machine tool orders worth some GBP 550,000 were received during three days of an Open House organised by Hardinge Machine Tools in the UK recently.
Reporting the best results ever received in the UK, Hardinge Machine Tools 'Next generation' Open House held in mid-October, brought in GBP 550,000 worth of orders and over 240 visitors.
Sales and marketing director, David Andrew, told manufacturingtalk.com that some 46 sales leads were generated.
He said that seven machine tool orders were taken, worth over GBP 550,000.
Subsequently six further machine tool orders were taken during the five days following the event.
The machine tools sold were high-end, mid-range and 'entry level' CNC milling machines and turning centres.
As Andrew said, in a report to manufacturingtalk: "There was significant interest amongst visitors in the new technology we launched at EMO in September".
"Our new 5-axis machine, the XR 600 5AX was a real 'crowd puller' - and the 5-axis simultaneous machining demonstration we ran on this machine was truly impressive".
He added that Hardinge's RS-series turning centres were also well received.
The RS 42 machine was integrated with a Motoman robot and an ultra-high performance RS 51 MSY.
One of the orders during the three days was for a RS 51 MSY.
