Hybrid connector integrates data and power
Industrial hybrid connector integrates data and power-supply links in a single IP67 protected device for use in hybrid Ethernet networks, and so reducing installation costs.
The new RJ Industrial Hybrid connector from Harting integrates data and power-supply links in a single IP67 protected device for use in hybrid Ethernet networks, leading to a significant reduction in installation costs for the connector and the associated field devices.
The four power contacts of the hybrid module have been designed to use Harting's Harax rapid termination technology, allowing stranded cables up to 1.5mm2 to be connected easily and quickly.
Also available is an IP67 hybrid panel feed-through, which is compatible with RJ45 connectors, allowing standard patch cables to be used for service and test purposes.
The data lines are connected at the rear via an RJ45 jack, while the power lines use a cage-clamp terminal.
In both devices, the connector geometry has been designed to maintain a clear separation between the data and power contacts.
Transmission properties are in accordance with Category 5 ISO/IEC 11 801:2002 and EN 50173-1, while working voltage for the power-supply lines is 48V.
