Operator interfaces are flexible and
convenient
Providing effective, flexible and convenient operator interfaces for control systems of all sizes and levels of complexity is now easier than ever says a control systems company.
Major additions to the versatile range of HMI control panels from Hayes Control Systems, which include new screen sizes and embedded PC options, mean that providing effective, flexible and convenient operator interfaces for control systems of all sizes and levels of complexity is now easier than ever Manufactured in Germany by Beckhoff, for whom Hayes Control Systems is the sole UK distributor, the control panel range now includes models with 6.5in screens, which are ideal for small-scale applications, and with 18.1in and 20.1in screens, which provide the large viewing area needed for detailed displays of complex processes, or for working with several windows simultaneously

Training courses for PLC and motion control
Hayes Control Systems are offering training courses for Beckhoff products based on TwinCAT IEC61131 software, covering PLC, Motion Control and linking data to third party MS Windows applications.
These new models complement the existing units with 10in, 12in and 15in screens.
In addition, all Beckhoff HMI control panels from Hayes Control Systems can now be supplied with an embedded PC which is designed to offer optimum performance when used with Windows CE or Embedded XP.
This powerful PC, which incorporates a 266 MHz processor, allows the control panel to operate as, for example, a terminal server which can be linked directly to control systems or SCADA installations via the built-in Ethernet interface.

Beckhoff training courses in 2007
Hayes Control Systems continue to offer training courses for Beckhoff products based on TwinCAT IEC61131 software.
Alternatively, by using Beckhoff TwinCAT software, the embedded PC can be used as a programmable controller, allowing the control panel to provide all of the functionality needed for a complete control system.
To maximise their versatility, the embedded PCs offer a wide range of additional features.
These include 32Mbytes of SDRAM, expandable to 128Mbytes; 16Mbytes of Flash memory, expandable to 64Mbytes; an internal slot for a Type II Compact Flash card; and optional USB and serial ports.
Like the existing products in the Beckhoff HMI range, the new models incorporate high-quality colour TFT displays with touch-screen and touch-pad options.
The units are available in standalone versions which offer IP65 ingress protection, and in versions designed for panel installation, which have an IP65 rating for the front section and an IP20 rating for the rear.
All models feature compact construction, and at just 38mm deep, are easy to accommodate even where space is limited.
The embedded PC versions are exactly the same size as the standard versions, making them an ideal choice for use in modern control systems where small overall size is an important requirement.
Hayes Control Systems is the leading UK expert in the design and supply of complete automation solutions based on open-architecture PC technology.
The company is the exclusive UK distributor for Beckhoff in Germany, whose products include fieldbus-independent input/output systems, industrial PCs, and soft programmable controllers which use standard PC hardware, and which can also provide sophisticated motion control functions.
In all of its product areas, Hayes Control Systems champions an open-systems approach, which avoids the technical limitations, high costs and restricted availability associated with proprietary equipment.
