Measurement consistency improved for
torque

Improvements made to torque measurement equipment enable all SG full bridge amplifiers to be used for torque measurement and measurement shafts also benefit from a rotational measuring system.

HBM has improved its T4A and T4WA-S3 series of torque measurement equipment to enable all SG full bridge amplifiers to be used for torque measurement The T4WA-S3 measurement shafts also benefit from an integral rotational measuring system

This uses two 5V (TTL-level) pulse series shifted by 180 degrees to give the angle and speed of rotation.

The series is now available in nominal ranges of 5Nm to 1 kNm with a 0.1 accuracy class and a maximum permissible nominal speed of 4,000 rpm.

The measurement shafts can be used for static and dynamic measurements of torque, rotational speed and angle of rotation.

The torque is transferred via squares complying with DIN 3121.

The two series are available in nominal torques of 5Nm, 10Nm, 20Nm, 50Nm, 100Nm, 200Nm, 500Nm and 1kNm.

The T4A and T4WA-S3 torque measurement equipment is used to ensure that bolts and nuts are tightened to the correct specifications.

The measurement of torque is independent of any tools used, such as intelligent screwdrivers integrated in assembly lines, or simple hand screwdrivers with an OK signal.

HBM's measuring amplifiers supply power and these are also used for integrating the torque shafts/screwed measurement shafts into the complete HBM measuring chain.

Although any of HBM's amplifier may be used with this equipment they are ideally suited to use with the PME family and the MGCplus.

In addition, the amplifiers can easily be linked to standardized interfaces and field bus systems such as RS232/485, Printerport, IEEE, Ethernet TCP/IP, Interbus S, CANopen and Profibus DP.

HBM is committed to providing the complete one-stop solution - from sensor through signal conditioning and evaluation software.

The T4A andT4WA-S3 torque transducers comply with the requirements of the German calibration laboratory (DKD).

They ensure traceability of torque to national standards and provide documentation to ensure that specified tolerances are observed. Request a free brochure from HBM UK ...
