To meet the demand for increased measuring ranges, torque flanges allow greater permissible lateral forces and ensures high radial stiffness.

HBM has launched its T10FM torque flange to meet the demand for increased measuring ranges.

The transducer has an accuracy of 0.1 and is now available in three sizes: size 1 for nominal torques of 15kNm, 20kNm and 25kNm; size 2 for nominal torques of 30kNm, 40kNm and 45kNm; and size 3 for nominal torques of 50kNm, 60kNm, 70kNm and 80kNm.

The transducer's short design allows greater permissible lateral forces and ensures high radial stiffness.

The maximum permissible rotational speed depends on the size and ranges between 6,000 rpm and 3,000 rpm.

The demand for the T10FM depends on new concepts emerging in the roller test stand sector, and greater torques being developed on transmission test rigs.

In general, fast acceleration and braking operations at extreme mass moments of inertia generate vast dynamic torques.

These have to be considered when selecting the nominal torque.

HBM's T10FM meets both the demands for faster acceleration and greater braking in component simulation and the increase in average torques by using the principle of shear stress measurement.

The T10FM torque flange complements the successful T10F series of torque transducers.

It requires no maintenance because its design has no slip rings or bearings.

Integrated electronics simplify handling for many measurement tasks.

The torque flange is powered by 18 - 30V DC voltage with two outputs available as standard: 10 kHz +/-5kHz and +/-10 V.

The +/-10V voltage output can be used directly to process the torque-proportional signals.

The 10 kHz +/-5kHz output allows the T10FM to be integrated into the overall HBM measurement chain via appropriate amplifiers from the PME family or MGCplus.
