Transfer transducer increases precision
checks

TOP transfer transducers provide greater accuracy in checking calibration equipment with a repeatability of up to ten times better than required in the ISO 376 standard.

The new TOP transfer transducers from HBM provide greater accuracy in checking calibration equipment with a repeatability of up to ten times better than required in the ISO 376 force calibration standard National metrology institutes worldwide use transfer transducers to compare the precision of different force calibration machines during routine checks to ensure complete accuracy

There are two versions of the latest transfer transducer series, the TOP-Z30 and TOP-Z4A, covering the range of nominal (rated) forces from 100 N to 500 kN.

Both models in the series can be used for compressive and tensile loading and the force application parts recommended in the standard are available for either preference.

During tests at the PTB (German Metrology Institute), measurements of the TOP transfer transducers showed that they were accurate to within 0.002 per cent over a year.

These tests verified the ability of the TOP transfer transducers to provide transfer measurements from calibration machines to national standards and the comparison of force standards provided by the national institutes worldwide.

The transducers are delivered with a DKD calibration certificate to provide a complete guarantee of their specifications.

During calibration tests, it is important that the TOP transfer transducer is connected to a high precision amplifier.

HBM recommends the use of its DMP40 precision amplifier to give an accuracy of 0.0005 per cent and a resolution of 2 million digits. Request a free brochure from HBM UK ...
