UK force calibration service enhanced
HBM has installed a force calibration machine with a range of 2.5 to 200 N for both tensile and compressive forces to strengthen its position in force calibration.
HBM has installed a force calibration machine with a range of 2.5 to 200 N for both tensile and compressive forces to strengthen its leading position in force calibration HBM now provides a force calibration range from 2.5 N to 1 MN for DKD (German Calibration Service) accredited calibrations, and up to 5 MN for working standard calibrations

Amplifier increases press-fit assembly accuracy
A measurement amplifier simplifies two-channel manufacturing and testing processes, such as press-fit monitoring, to ensure greater fitting accuracy.
Measurement consistency improved for torque
Improvements made to torque measurement equipment enable all SG full bridge amplifiers to be used for torque measurement and measurement shafts also benefit from a rotational measuring system.
Over the past few years, HBM has added dead-weight calibration machines to its equipment while a number of other existing machines have been upgraded.
HBM has been a leader in the field of calibration since its laboratory became the first to be accredited by DKD in 1977.
Accreditation to DKD standards means that the laboratory is capable of ensuring a best measurement capability of only 0.005%.
Transfer measurements using HBM force transfer transducers from the TOP-Z30 and U1A series and DMP40 precision amplifiers ensure traceability to national standards.
Reliable and precise measurement of small forces is increasingly important in industry but force transducers, suitable for such sensitive measurements should only be used after they have been correctly calibrated.
HBM remains at the forefront of international standards and conforms to ISO 376 that replaced the previous EN 10002-3 European standard.
The calibration procedure remains unchanged although the ISO standard places a higher demand on the interchangeability of any amplifiers.
HBM's DMP40, ML38 and DK38 precision amplifiers comply with the more demanding requirements but if other amplifiers are used, the complete measuring chain must be calibrated.
As part of its service, HBM provides calibration of its own force transducers and issues calibration certificates to other manufacturers.
