Digital torque transducer with torque
family
The Smart Torque family with the T12 digital torque transducer from HBM provides monitoring and diagnosis functions for simplified integration into automation systems.
HBM has launched its Smart Torque family with the T12 digital torque transducer that sets new standards of increased efficiency and reliability for torque measurement in power test stands while providing monitoring and diagnosis functions for simplified integration into automation systems The T12 digital torque transducer measures torque, rotational speed and angle, power and temperature with maximum precision with nominal (rated) measuring ranges of 5 kNm and 10 kNm

HBM's PACEline force transducer family provides measurement ranges from 5-120kN for reliable integrated force measurement especially where space is a constraint.
Measurement software package released
An integrated software package for acquiring, visualizing, and analyzing measurement data has several new modules and video analysis.
This complements the existing T12 torque transducer range with nominal (rated) torques of 500 Nm, 1 kNm, 2 kN,and 3 kNm.
The T12 can be used up to a nominal (rated) rotational speed of 16,000 rpm depending on the measuring range.
The T12 has been designed to provide immediate measurement results and has wide ranging interconnectivity through CANopen and Profibus DPV1fieldbus systems to PLC automation systems.
With a frequency output ranging from 10 kHz +/- 5 kHz to 60 kHz +/- 30 kHz and an analog output of +/-10, the T12 is also fully compatible with conventional technologies.
Additionally the T12 outputs RS-422 signals to enable measurement of rotational speed and angle.
The T12 benefits from a compact design that saves space and costs in test stand design.
The lower rotor weight reduces bearing loads, while the smaller mass moments of inertia reduce dynamic moments during acceleration or braking.
By monitoring certain functions, for example, temperature and mechanical limit, the T12 can indicate critical operating states over time.
This enables down times to be reduced and machinery damage prevented.
Auto-diagnosis functions easily identify operating errors and settings that are not in line with specifications. Request a free brochure from HBM UK ...
