HBM releases the VK20A junction box

HBM has introduced the VK20A junction box for 14 - 30 V DC supply voltages to make measurements more reliable.

It does this by ensuring EMC-compliant connection of T20WN and T22 torque transducers to HBM amplifier systems.

The VK20A has replaced the VK20 junction box because the recently-launched T22 and T20WN torque transducers utilise current inputs.

The T22 torque transducer is a low-cost solution for applications requiring lower accuracy.

Main applications include static and dynamic torque measurement on stationary or rotating parts in laboratory, test and measurement, as well as in production and process control and education.

With its compact and robust design, the transducer has a 0.5 accuracy as defined by HBM and comes in different nominal (rated) torque steps ranging from 5 Nm to 1000 Nm.

The maximum permissible rotational speed ranges from 9,000-16,000 rpm, depending on the measuring range.

The T20WN torque transducer, which has rated torques of 0.1 - 200 Nm, delivers an analogue output signal 0-10 V of the torque with high bandwidth, making it ideal for use in production as this output signal can be processed by all current analysis electronics.

T20WN also operates without wear, making it maintenance-free: the supply voltage is transferred without contact to the rotor of the transducer.

The return transfer of the torque value to the stator is as an analogue voltage signal.

The simple installation into the production line is another advantage for the use of T20WN for checking rotary switches.

The integration of the transducer into the test configuration occurs via simple bellows couplings, which are also available from HBM as accessories.

The integrated speed measuring system in T20WN delivers 360 pulses per revolution on two tracks offset by 90deg.

After the edge detection, this means that 1440 pulses are available.
