Pressure Sensors are designed for applications that require precision pressure management at low-pressure measurements as low as 5in H20 and 10in H20.

Honeywell [NYSE: HON] today introduced two additional offerings to its new family of pressure sensors Based on Honeywell industry-leading SDX Series sensors, ASDXL and ASDXL DO Series Pressure Sensors are designed for applications that require precision pressure management at low-pressure measurements as low as 5"H20 and 10" H20

Potential applications include medical equipment, HVAC controls, barometry and pneumatic controls.

The ASDXL and ASDXL DO Series Pressure Sensors are fully calibrated and temperature compensated with on-board Application Specific Integrated Circuitry (ASIC).

"The ASDXL DO features a digital output, which translates into higher clarity, better response times, and ease of interface with your application," said David Kertes, business development manager.

"The ASDXL DO Series sensors provide digital correction of the sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature coefficients and non-linearity." The ASDXL DO sensors use I2C compatible protocol, which allows easy interfacing to most commonly used microcontrollers and microprocessors without additional components or electronic circuitry.

The 2-wire I2C interface has a Serial Clock Line (SCL) input and serial digital output data line.

The output of the device is a corrected pressure value in hexadecimal format with 12-bit accuracy.

The ASDXL Series is amplified with an analog output span of 2.0V DC or 4.0 V.

ASDXL and ASDXL DO devices are available to measure absolute, differential and gage pressures.

The absolute devices have an internal vacuum reference and an output proportional to absolute pressure.

Differential devices allow application of pressure to either side of the sensing diaphragm and can be used for gage or differential measurements.

The ASDXL and ASDXL DO Series sensors are available in pressure ranges that cover pressures from 5in H20 and 10in H20 to 100 lb/in2.

All ASDXL and ASDXL DO Series devices are accurate to within +/- 2.0 % full scale and are intended for operation from a single 5.0 V DC supply.

The sensors have standard DIP packaging with compact footprints and are designed and manufactured in accordance with standards laid down in ISO 9001 standards.

They are intended for use with non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids, such as air and dry gases.

Honeywell ASDXL and ASDXL DO Pressure Sensors feature highly consistent operating characteristics from one sensor to the next and interchangeability without calibration.

They are a small, low-cost and reliable pressure management solution.
