Blast operator helmet has improved features

A Hodge Clemco product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Oct 6, 2008

Hodge Clemco has introduced a blast operator's helmet with a number of new features designed to improve comfort, visibility, durability and convenience for the wearer.

The main shell of the Apollo 600 helmet is manufactured from heavy-duty polypropylene and is large enough for operators to wear air defenders if needed.

External noise attenuation performance is better than the existing Apollo model, and noise from the internal air-flow has also been reduced.

The outer cover is deep enough to provide protection from abrasive rebound for the top of the cape.

The fixed visor, which is produced from high-quality material, gives a wide view and is easy to fit, with tear-off transparent strips providing convenient protection and clear visibility.

The air-flow is fed through a single hose to the front of the operator's face, with an internal drop-down tab giving clear warning of reduced air pressure.

The cape has a zip-fastened inner collar and is held in place with a quick-release buckle.
