Bar feeder interfaces with any CNC lathe
make
Designed to feed full length bars for long periods under lights out unmanned production, a full length bar feeder can be interfaced to any make of sliding head and fixed head CNC lathe.
Hydrafeed announce that they will be showing four new products for the first time on their stand 5537 in Hall 5 at MACH 2004 1) The Autofeed Full Length Magazine CNC Barfeed has been designed and manufactured in the UK, and allows the feeding of bars from 3mm - 32mm diameter, and up to 4 metres in length

The Megafeed can be interfaced to any make of sliding head and fixed head CNC lathe and is designed to feed full length bars for long periods and to achieve lights out unmanned production.
2) The X-Tract CNC Automatic Unloader which has been designed and manufactured in the UK, to safely and efficiently unload components that are too long to be caught in standard parts catchers, but require removal through the bore of the secondary spindle in twin spindle CNC lathes.
The X-Tract is supplied as a package with all necessary ancillary equipment, such as the Hydrafeed spindle liner system, internal and external gripping collets, delivery and installation in England and Wales ready to go.

Bar feeder capacity increased
Among an extensive range of products to be shown by Hydrafeed a bar feeding system incorporates many new features, including additional capacity of up to 105mm in diameter if required.
Barfeed maker offers 24 hour service team
Offering a 24-hour service team a barfeed manufacturer says a customer can call the company at any time - day or night - to put any questions, diagnose faults, and provide the back up.
Retrofit latest barfeeds and reduce machine cycles
Retrofitting the latest barfeed designs to varioustypes of CNC production lathes has reduced cycle times by up to 25% in a series of installations around the industry.
The X-Tract can be easily interfaced with any CNC machine and can be simply programmed to operate by gripping finished components either internally or externally, dependent on component shape and form.
The X-Tract removes the component out of the lathe spindle and then deposits it into a support channel; which then in turn deposits it in to a receiving table.
The receiving table is set to the desired angle, and contains adjustable nylon runners to ensure quality protection.
3) The Transporter Unloader which enables components up to 500mm long to be unloaded from single spindle CNC lathes.
Parts are then collected in a heavy duty special length parts catcher and unloaded into a channel positioned alongside the lathe, and then transported for distances as far as 5 metres.
Apart from the obvious advantages of the Transporter, the design includes the ability of the top structure to move as required in the linear plane together with the machine guard, allowing unrestricted access to the lathe for set up or maintenance purposes.
4) Hydrafeed will also be introducing the Servo-Slide VMC worktable (subject of a patent application) - a completely new product that increases the 'X' axis capacity of most makes of Vertical Machining Centre by as much as 100%, at a fraction of the cost of a larger machine tool.
The worktable travels on preloaded recirculating bearing blocks and precision rails.
Movement is achieved using a 30mm diameter ball screw and nut, which is driven by a powerful servomotor, and controlled using a manual touch screen to obtain any desired movement and positions.
Asides from all these new products, Hydrafeed will also be exhibiting their award winning Multifeed Short CNC Magazine Barfeed, complete with a Bar Support Unit, which allows users to feed bars of up to 1.8 metres in length into their CNC lathe.
Hydrafeed's workholding range will also be on show, with Hydrafeed's unique Chuck stand, which will allow visitors to their stand to see their new range of Full Bore Collet Chucks, Fixed Length Collet Chucks, Servo Collet Chucks, and Direct Mount Collet Chucks.
