Hydrafeed abrasive belts deburr effectively

A Hydrafeed product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Oct 7, 2008

Hydrafeed abrasive belt machines enable the company to provide a deburring solution to meet the exact needs of the end user.

The deburring media generally tends to be plastic or ceramic cones supplied in a variety of sizes appropriate to the component.

The cones can be mixed with water and a complimentary liquid or powder to improve the surface finish or assist with sharp edge removal.

The extensive range of barrel finishers can be supplied with a variety of options such as timers and unloading units.

As a UK-based manufacturer, Hydrafeed can also visit the end user to determine the best solution and then manufacture a bespoke system to deliver unrivalled productivity and quality levels.

All the machines in the range are compact and quiet allowing them to be installed at the heart of any production area.

To enhance the service life the barrels are lined with hot cast polyurethane that lasts for the lifetime of the barrel.

The abrasive belt machines are often located next to a machining centre that allows the operator to deburr while the machine tool is running.

This process optimises shop floor labour and enhances product quality while the compact workspace of the belt machines enables them to slot into virtually any manufacturing environment.

Heavier-duty models are available for casting preparation work or similar where metal has to be removed rather than a sharp edge broken.

This type of equipment remains an important part of Hydrafeed's product portfolio as it provides a quick and easy method of removing labour-intensive operations from most machine parts.
