Machining centre probes halve cycle times
Set up times have been cut by half and tool setting optimised following the installation of Heidenhain touch trigger probes and tool setting probes at Cross Manufacturing (1938).
Showing at MACH 2004 for the first time in the UK, The new PT 880 Digital Readout has an ergonomic design and its innovative contouring features allows one to program any two-dimensional part and graphically follow the cutting process on a large TFT colour monitor.
Through coordinated hand control on the two axes, parts with contours can easily be produced.
This is ideal for short runs where even simple controls costs thousands more.
The PT 880 is a full featured readout, with six axes input for either linear or angular encoders.
As with all Heidenhain DROs, it is user friendly and designed to increase productivity.
The PT 880 is also the first digital readout that accepts absolute scale inputs in addition to either 11uApp or 1 Vpp inputs.
With absolute scales, the system always knows the position, and there is no battery backup or referencing necessary.
The inputs can be either linear or rotary or any combination.
The PT 880 comes standard with both lathe and milling software selectable through simple user selection.
A large memory is provided for stored programs.
As an option, a remote console is available for applications on larger machines. Request a free brochure from Heidenhain (GB) ...
