Heidenhain (GB) reports a growth in its digital readout sales for manual machine tools such as milling machines, lathes and grinders and the company's 'trade-in' deals are proving popular.

Despite being a mature technology Heidenhain (GB) is reporting a growth in its digital readout (DRO) sales for manual machine tools such as milling machines, lathes and grinders.

Stuart Jenkins (Heidenhain Sales Office Manager) adds: "It's pleasing to see this growth which has been helped in part by the recent addition of the Positip 880 6 axis machine tool DRO display".

"This full featured graphics driven system has made the use of machines such as the BoKo featured in http://www.manufacturingtalk.com/news/hei/hei125.html easier and more productive." This new DRO includes graphics guidance to help with the machining of contours on a manual machine.

"It is a feature you really have to see to believe," adds Jenkins.

Heidenhain's attractive 'Trade-in' offers on older DROs are also proving popular as many readouts are reaching the end of their useful life and repair is no longer economic.

Heidenhain is therefore offering -through its UK distributor network, a hefty discount on the cost of a new DRO system providing the existing system - working or not, from any manufacturer, is traded in.

Heidenhain has also introduced a new retrofit page to its web sites.

This offers details on all types of products including Digital Readouts, CNC probes and inspection gauges.
