Toyota Motor Europe manufacturing has ordered 12 MC16 machining centres for its Deeside plant from Heller Machine Tools.

Toyota Motor Europe manufacturing has ordered 12 MC16 machining centres for its Deeside plant from Heller Machine Tools The machines were selected because of the high quality of the design and build, the support which Heller could provide throughout the build, installation, commissioning and operation of the machines, and Heller's ability to work with its customers to achieve the most appropriate solution to a production requirement

Commenting, Bert de Colvenaer of Toyota said "After the selection procedure which included the evaluation of several machine makers, we selected Heller on the basis of quality, cost, delivery time, and customer commitment".

The MC16 machines are built at Heller's 8000m2 factory at Redditch, and this was a major consideration in Toyota 's decision to purchase.

Quality of the design and build of the Heller machines is already recognised throughout the world as amongst the very best available.

The company's ability to support its machines is not bettered.

Manufacturing horizontal machining centres in the UK ensures that whatever support a customer needs - be it as simple as a spare part, a change in tooling or fixturing or as radical as a complete re-evaluation of a production process - it will be available within twenty four hours.

Geoff Lloyd, Managing Director of Heller Machine Tools, said "We pride ourselves on our ability to respond quickly and appropriately to the requirements of a customer or a potential customer and to work in partnership with them from the beginning of the quotation process through to operational support.

As the pressures become ever greater on manufacturers this is essential for their success: no company can afford machines out of action simply because an engineer or a part cannot reach them for days or even weeks.

As a major manufacturer, we fully understand these needs and have organised ourselves to be able to meet entirely the expectations of the customer".

The MC16.2 horizontal machining centre, which complements the other machines in the Heller range, provides fast traverse rates (90m/min), fast acceleration (12m/s2), and fast chip-to-chip times (1.8s).

In process tool monitoring helps eliminate scrap and lost time by providing simultaneous tool breakage detection and integrated process monitoring.

The chain type tool magazine has 40 pockets as standard.

The working envelope is 630mm in X, Y and Z. Request free introductory details about products from Heller Machine Tools ...
