Fast HMC to get through automotive volumes
a fast, versatile HMC, developed primarily for higher volumes, typically the automotive industry, features 90m/min fast traverse, acceleration of 12mm/sec2 and and 1.8sec chip-to-chip ATC.
Machining centre machines to close tolerances
A small family-owned business will increase its turnover by 35.2% this year and, on new M-Cs, consistently machines to tolerances which would frighten the majority of engineers.
In addition, Borg Warner has also ordered new tooling and fixturing for the three Heller MCP 250s horizontal machining centres already operating in its machine shop.
Borg Warner has ordered the additional machine in order to handle increased production demand at their facility in Port Talbot.
They selected the Heller machine because of Heller's ability to work in partnership with them and because of the productivity and reliability of the existing machines.
Managing Director of Heller, Geoff Lloyd, said "We are naturally delighted and proud to win this order.
We have worked with Borg Warner for a number of years and are always pleased to win orders from existing customers because it shows the success they have had with our machines.
We are finding our machines are continuing to sell well this year and are on target to increase our performance compared with last year, in itself a record year for us".
The Heller MC range has been designed specifically to minimize piece part costs by combining high spindle speed, traversing rates of up to 90m/min and rapid tool changes, so minimizing idle time, with a compact footprint and minimal operating costs.
The MC26 twin pallet horizontal machining centre as ordered by Borg Warner is the largest of the MC range, with 800mm travel in X, Y and Z axes.
Spindle drive power is 52kW.
Rapid traverse is 60m/min, acceleration 10m/s2 and chip to chip time 4s.
The chain type tool magazine has 60 pockets, although 120 are an option and 194 pockets are offered in the rack-type tool magazine.
It is ideally suited to Borg Warner's production system, offering accuracy, repeatability and reliability for volume production at a justifiable cost. Request free introductory details about products from Heller Machine Tools ...
