China machine tool show scored for Heller
Heller machine tools exhibit at China's CIMT machine tool exhibition attracted a lot of interest, says the company, and the number of visitors exceeded the company's expectations.
In April 2005, Heller could account for a more than successful appearance at the CIMT in China, the worldwide second largest trade fair for machine tools.
At the Heller booth more than 2000 people of an estimated 1900 companies gathered information about the internationally operating company and its products.
Hai Han, president of Heller China, considers the strong interest in Heller "an excellent result".
He says that the high demand for HELLER products does not come as a surprise: "Heller machines stand for the best quality, outstanding technology and high precision." The spotlight was on two Heller machining centres at the 9th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT 2005): the MC 12 and the MCi 25.
From 11 through 17 April 2005, interested customers from all over the globe were given the opportunity to take a closer look at these machining centres at the 130m2 Heller booth.
We handled a surprisingly high amount of customer contacts, proving that there is considerable interest in our products.
Manfred Maier, Managing Director for Sales and Engineering at Heller, comments: "The number of visitors exceeded all of our expectations." He points out that the fair: "Was very successful indeed".
According to Maier customer contacts at the CIMT outnumbered the number of trade visitors at European trade fairs by far.
Maier says: "Our booth was always packed with people".
"However, not only Chinese customers were among the visitors but also representatives of well-known European or US companies." Experts from all around the world, including representatives of General Motors USA, Volvo Sweden, Ford USA, Fiat Italy and international suppliers of the automotive industry all visited the fair.
Hai Han, President of Heller China, said that the fair was an opportunity to demonstrate to customers that the machining centres of the traditional German company stand for both accuracy and high productivity.
Since last autumn, Heller has had its own subsidiary in China, confirming its outstanding market position among machine tool manufacturers.
"We took a further step towards internationalisation".
"Our Asian customers are provided with the best possible support, sales and service," says Hai Han and points out that customer satisfaction is top priority for Heller.
According to Han, the Shanghai subsidiary was established due to the growing customer demand".
""Our products are very sought after in Asia".
"There is no reason why the Asian market should not benefit from Heller technology".
"Han states that the new representation in China has a lot of advantages in store for Asian customers".
"One decisive plus is new proximity to customers".
""Now our highly qualified engineers work right on the spot and thus allow for improved and faster service.
Technical support can be provided at very short notice.
Five service engineers, two application engineers and two experts for logistics and spare parts are available.
We guarantee fast and competent problem solving.
Just give us a call and you get all the support you need from one source." According to Wu XiuTong, head of service and vice president of Heller China, a duty-free warehouse for spare parts will soon be available in Shanghai".
"Moreover, Heller intends to offer 'on-site training' for its customers".
"XiuTong explains that the goal is to establish long-term relationships between Heller and Chinese companies".
"After all, China is the largest customer country in the machine tool business world-wide: "We hope to take advantage of the enormous potential that this market holds." The CIMT in Beijing proved to be the ideal platform for implementing this goal".
"In fact, quite a number of trade show visitors have already decided to opt for Heller".
"According to Hai Han, several sales were concluded and there were also many fruitful discussions and specific offers made to customers.
"We successfully established relations with new customers.
Again, we were able to show that a lot of know-how goes into Heller machines".
""I feel we were able to fully demonstrate our outstanding competence in machine tool technology", Han said.
Another major success was Heller's press conference at the Beijing Hilton at the start of the trade show on 11 April attended by 18 journalists from 12 technical journals and newspapers.
Following the event, numerous articles were published and two TV stations broadcast reports on the German company and its products.
Part of the week-long trade fair schedule was also a symposium that took place on 13 April: Wolfgang Bertschinger, project engineer at Heller China presented Heller's wide range of products and services to 120 guests.
On 16 April a banquet was held at the Beijing governmental guesthouse Diaoyutai Guobingguan.
On this occasion, Heller director Berndt Heller met Yu Chengting, president of the CMTBA (China Machine Tool and Tool Builders' Association).
A very special honour awaited the Heller employees on 18 April at the end of the CIMT.
Zeng Pei Yan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Peoples' Republic of China and Jia Qing Lin, Chairman of the Committee of the Chinese Peoples' Political Consultative Conference (CCPPC) visited the Heller booth along with five high-ranking politicians from various ministries.
The dignitaries came to get informed about the German quality products and showed keen interest according to Heller representative Han".
""We felt that the guests were very impressed." According to Marcus Kurringer, Head of Marketing at Heller, the CIMT in Beijing was a very successful and promising trade show for the Asian and the global market".
""The enthusiastic response encourages us to underscore Heller's prominent position on the world market by being present at future trade shows in China." * About Gebrueder Heller Maschinenfabrik - Heller is an internationally focused company based in Germany with further production plants in England, Brazil and the US.
