Powerful HMCs have swivelling head
A particularly powerful range of horizontal machining centres is equipped, for example, with a swivel head unit for higher machining flexibility and carrying out five-sides machining.
Heller's MCH range is a class of particularly powerful machining centres The machine can be equipped with two speed range gearbox, high-speed hollow shaft motor or swivelling C-unit and offers a torque range from 460 to 1145Nm making it the ideal machine even for the most demanding machining tasks

Fast HMC to get through automotive volumes
a fast, versatile HMC, developed primarily for higher volumes, typically the automotive industry, features 90m/min fast traverse, acceleration of 12mm/sec2 and and 1.8sec chip-to-chip ATC.
Machining centre machines to close tolerances
A small family-owned business will increase its turnover by 35.2% this year and, on new M-Cs, consistently machines to tolerances which would frighten the majority of engineers.
The working range available for the MCH series stretches from 800 x 800 x 800mm on the MCH 250, to 2000 x 1400 x 1250mm on the MCH 460.
With a working range of 1100mm in the Z-axis, and 1000mm in the X and Y axis, the MCH 280 C exhibited at the METAV 2006 in Duesseldorf is one of the smaller models.
However, the machine is equipped with a swivel head, the so-called C-unit.

A twin-spindle HMC offers double the productivity for less than double the investment, virtually halves the floor space requirement and minimizes operator involvement.
Subcontractor gets machine in just three weeks
A machining centre was customised and built in just three weeks for J L French, a first tier subcontractor to the automotive industry.
This compact machining unit features a controlled rotary axis rotating at a 45 deg angle below the spindle axis with a precision of 360,000 x 0.001 deg.
This allows five-sided machining at any selectable angle.
The MCH 280 C is a universal production machine offering a high performance potential for customers with a wide spectrum of machining requirements.
Apart from their excellent performance the machines of the MCH range also provide superior dynamics.
The Dynamics Package available up to model size 350 provides acceleration values of up to 7 m/s2.
The C-unit featuring an HSK A-100 spindle taper and a two speed range gearbox can reach a maximum speed of 8,000 rev/min.
Power (43kW) and torque (800Nm) characteristics correspond to the standard spindle unit with two speed range gearbox.
In both cases, gears are switched at a speed of 1,700 rev/min.
In spite of all its technical sophistication the newly developed C-unit has a very compact design.
Compared to the standard MCH, the additional overhang of the C-unit in horizontal position is only 300mm.
In addition to the MCH 280 C the following versions are available: MCH 350 C (X - 1250mm, Y - 1000mm, Z - 1300mm) and MCH 450 C (X - 1600mm, Y - 1200mm, Z - 1700mm).
In the standard version, the MCH range is equipped with a high-speed chain magazine with 50 tool places.
Optionally, tool capacity can be extended to 100 tools.
If a higher storage capacity is required, a universal rack magazine with up to 405 places is available.
Both magazine versions are available with fixed or variable place coding for optimized place assignment.
As is typical for Heller, the MCH 280 C can easily be extended to a flexible manufacturing cell.
Pallet pools in rotary or linear design and pallet systems (Fastems) allow loading parallel to machining to ensure maximum productivity in daily production.
With a wide range of available options including tool monitoring, fast drill fracture sensing, integrated process monitoring and tool length measurement, the MCH offers the ideal solution for every application.
