Production and design engineers around the world now have access to a wealth of technical data on the latest in adhesives technology, with the launch of the second edition of the World Design Handbook by Henkel Loctite Adhesives.

Now available via the Loctite website at www.loctite.co.uk, the Handbook gives a useful overview of the engineering principles behind industrial bonding, thread locking and sealing, assembly of medical and electronic products and other applications.

An explanation of the classification of adhesives by their curing properties, such as anaerobic, anionic (cyanoacrylate), activation and heat curing provides an insight into the range of products available and the chemical properties behind their performance.

Information is also given on the correct pre-treatment of surfaces to ensure proper bonding.

Technical data sheets on the full range of Loctite products are included, with a guided product finder making it easy to find the right product for a particular application.

Definitions of terminology such as adhesion, cohesion, viscosity, flashpoint and specific gravity used in the technical sections, can be called up in drop down boxes simply by clicking on the relevant word.

The Handbook also provides details of the wide range of application and dispensing equipment available from Loctite, the services offered by Loctite's advanced worldwide engineering facilities, including simulation of production and assembly facilities, testing and evaluation, equipment development and design assistance.

To access the Worldwide Design Handbook via the Internet go to www.loctite.co.uk.
