High-precision, high-speed coordinate measuring machine combines the accuracy of a laboratory measuring device with high speed and much higher acceleration.

High-precision, high-speed coordinate measuring machine Coordinate measuring machines of the PMM-C series from Hexagon Me-trology combines the accuracy of a laboratory measuring device with high speed and much higher acceleration Measuring times and in-spection costs are greatly reduced

The PMM-C 600/700 with measuring ranges from 800 x 1000 x 600mm to 2400 x 1200 x 700mm achieves a volumetric length measurement error E of up to 0.6 + L/600 [micron].

The PMM-C 1000 offers measuring ranges of 1600 x 1200 x 1000mm to 2400 x 1600 x 1000mm.

With a volumetric length measurement error E of up to 1.3 + L/500 [micron] and a probing error P of only 1.0 micron (both details to DIN EN ISO 10360-2), this is the most precise measuring machine worldwide within this range.

In addition, Hexagon Metrology is one of the first manufacturers worldwide to construct its CMMs to the new ISO 10 360-5 standard (multi-probe test).

With this new measuring machines, even the smallest tolerances can be checked safely, rapidly and therefore economically.

Maintenance-free air bearings on all axes, a service-friendly electronic concept and collision protection for the complete machine are a guarantee for low maintenance, service and operation costs.

* Short measurement times - when developing the PMM-C, special value was placed on short measurement times and therefore low inspection costs.

Not only the extremely high travel speed for precision measuring machines of 400mm/s.

but also the maximum acceleration of 3000mm/s2 and a probing frequency of up to 40 points per min.

are a guarantee for a throughput rate that so far has been unknown in the higher precision range.

* Sensor system - the central measuring 3D probe system LSP-S (Leitz Scanning Probe) with dynamic single point probing, self centering and standard high-speed scanning can handle any measurement task.

Fully automatic changing of probe tip configurations up to a weight of 1000 g and a length of 600mm is possible without any re-calibration.

* The safety concept - CMMs from Hexagon Metrology have always been fitted with colli-sion protection to ensure machine safety of the probe head and spindle.

The PMM-C now also has safety contact rails to provide even more safety for operators.

* The 'Closed Frame' principle - the "closed frame" construction with fixed enclosed bridge and moving ta-ble offers maximum rigidity and free accessibility from all sides.

Servo-drives with recirculating ball screw and friction free guides for moving parts on pre-tensioned air bearings ensure high-level driving dynamics.

Mainly low stress cast iron and granite are used as materials.

This makes the PMM-C insensitive to temperature fluctuations.

The use of high-resolution steel scales achieves the same thermal behavior as that of most parts to be measured.

* The software - the measuring machine is equipped optionally with QUINDOS or PC-DMIS software packages.

Both enable the user to solve the manifold measuring tasks in a flexible, effective way - sophisticated tasks on pris-matic workpieces, measurements of profiles up to complex gears and special geometries.

Of course, the programming based on CAD design drawings is one of the strength of our Software.
