Bushings protect, secure assembled cable bundles

Universal pen/closed universal bushing with flexible shutters protect and secure pre-assembled cable bundles in electrical panels.

Plastics components and cable accessories supplier Heyco - division of Anixter - has added to its established range of snap-fit bushings with the introduction of its new range of open/closed universal bushing with flexible shutters (OCUB).

The OCUBs are ideal when installing around pre-assembled wires, cable and hose bundles, routing and securing them inside all kinds of electrical panels; absorbing vibration and insulating cables, tubing, hoses or shafts where limited internal clearance or varying size is a challenge.

For versatility, eight sizes of OCUB are available ranging from 12.7mm to 38.1mm diameter holes.

The OCUBs have a split design which allows side entry, making them suitable for use with pre-assembled wire harnesses, capillary tubes and other through-routed assemblies that have segments larger than the inside diameter of ordinary bushings.

The split design also allows assembly in holes with existing cables or tubing.

OCUBs snap into place with fingertip pressure and accommodate any shape to a maximum diameter of 26.9mm.

The functional design features and superior quality make OCUBs a good choice for snap-fit bushing application especially where limited internal clearance or size is a challenge," comments Andrew Fletcher, technical director, Heyco.

Moulded in high-impact Nylon 6,6, OCUB has a flammability classification of UL94V-2 with a temperature index of 125 deg C.

Colours are injection-moulded with the nylon to create uniform and consistent solid-coloured parts.

OCUBs are available from stock in black, and custom colours are readily available via special order.
