One of the most important quality characteristics for the beer connoisseur is appearance and this depends primarily on the behaviour of the foam.
When a beer glass is emptied some foam islands remain on the inner glass wall.
How well this foam 'laces' on the wall is defined as cling: the more foam that adheres, the better the quality of the foam and this 'cling' gives an insight into the beer quality.
The Cling Meter has a scanning head which is driven down into the emptied beer glass under test and detects the area of glass covered by foam.
The calculation of the glass area covered by foam gives a quantitative measurement of the beer quality.
During the calculation, the instrument compensates for influence factors including temperature and pressure.
The Cling Meter is fully portable and can store up to 400 measurements.
The large LCD shows measurement progress and results.
The bar code reader can be used for sample identification and data can either be down loaded to a PC running the supplied software, or printed off.
The decision to integrate the Norit Proces Technologie Holding companies within the UK under one roof is part of the Group's corporate strengthening programme.
