A two piece symmetrical modular electrical harness fitting snaps together over slit and unslit conduit and enables cables to be slotted into a wiring harness and so speeding up installation times.

A designer and manufacturer of flexible conduit systems and connector interfaces for critical vehicle electrical wiring protection, Harnessflex, has introduced its X-Piece fitting, XPS 1208 The two piece symmetrical modular fitting provides crossover and manifold capabilities

It snaps together over slit and unslit conduit and enable cables to be slotted into a wiring harness.

This method will also provide easier packaging and substantially reduced installation times, said Harnessflex.

The X-Piece is designed to snap over NC, CPTA, modified PP and deep section PP slit and unslit conduit up to 12mm diameter.

Maximum conduit bore is maintained for ease of cable feed.

A series of X-pieces can be snapped together to provide a number of outlet options, said Harnessflex to manufacturingtalk.com.

It forms a manifold through which the wiring harness can be safely routed.

In this way, the X-piece can reduce the overall size of manifold and obviate the need for short conduit runs between the fittings.

Manufactured from nylon (polyimide 6.6), the Harnessflex X-Piece is IP40 rated and has a high nominal pull of strength of 120N.

The company has worked closely with its OEM customers to design the XPS 1208 to ensure it provides optimum vehicle harness protection.
