Machine enables acoustic doors production
Purchase of a Torwegge PWT 100 machine - cutting production time by 75% - has enabled a UK company to offer a range of high performance radiation resistant and acoustic door sets.
A recent purchase of state-of-the-art machinery has enabled a Shropshire manufacturing company to offer a new range of high performance radiation resistant and acoustic door sets.
Ludlow based Hazlin who manufacture bespoke, architectural veneered doors, panels and door sets for use in quality domestic residences, schools, financial institutions and hospitals has invested in a Torwegge PWT 100 machine.
Chris Jones, managing director at Hazlin, believed the company are now set to match their competitors by providing doors in a variety of sizes and configurations, decorative veneers, laminates or protective PVC sheeting.
He said: "Our new radiation doors will carry two layers of lead which prevents any discernable radioactive leakage and ensures performance is not compromised through the fitting of locks and other ironmongery.
The acoustic door disseminates harmonious frequencies up to 47 Decibels through a unique layer of materials and both are fire rated from FD30 to FD60 depending on the thickness.
Their high performance is enhanced by the use of hot melt polyurethane adhesive which once cured does not deteriorate.
In addition, the Torwegge is a quicker machine cutting production time by 75%, which means we can offer customers a shorter lead time from order to final delivery." * About Hazlin - established in 1974 Hazlin manufacture a range of doors that are fire, acoustic and radiation resistant, and include a variety of vision panels, veneers, joinery and finishes.
The company is ISO 9001:2000 quality assured, an Investor in People, a BM Trada Quality Fire Door Scheme member and the only door manufacturer in the UK to have been awarded the 'SMART' and 'SPUR' awards by the DTI.
Hazlin generated sales of GBP 3.65 million for its most recent fiscal year, which ended 28th February 2006.
Sales are targeted in excess of GBP 4.0m this current financial year.
