3D printing system produces high quality models cost effectively using horizontal layers as thin as 16 micron to produce exceptionally fine details, ultra-thin walls down to 0.6mm, and high accuracy.

Objet Geometries, the world leader in ultra-thin layer photopolymer jetting, today announced the Eden250 3-Dimensional Printing System The Eden250 leverages Objet's market-proven Eden platform to bring high-quality, highly accurate rapid prototyping capabilities into the reach of virtually any design or manufacturing operation in a wide range of fields

Its unique combination of office-friendly design, advanced capabilities and affordable price point make the Eden250 ideal for virtually any organisation, including consumer products, electronics, medical devices and fashion accessories companies, along with academic institutions and small businesses.

Like all Eden printing systems, the Eden250 is based on Objet's innovative PolyJet technology, which enables horizontal layers as thin as 16 micron (0.0006in), exceptionally fine details, ultra-thin walls down to 0.6mm (0.024in), and high accuracy, with a typical tolerance of just 0.1mm.

The Eden250 uses a completely clean process that is ideal for standard office type environments - with no special electrical, ventilation, or materials storage requirements.

It is priced far below competitive high-quality systems, thus providing a cost effective solution for building models and parts that are exceptionally smooth and durable, with fine details and an outstanding surface finish.

"The Eden250 extends the benefits of cost-effective, high-quality in-house 3D printing to a wide range of organizations that previously had to settle for lower quality or outsourced models," said Adina Shorr, CEO of Objet Geometries.

"With the launch of this new system, Objet now offers a complete range of 3D printers, providing an answer for virtually any application, workflow and budget." * Cost effective versatility - with a 250mm x 250mm x 200mm build size, the new Eden250 enables the building of a single large model in one build, eliminating time-consuming joining and gluing, or multiple smaller models in one cost-effective, time-saving build.

A choice of High Quality and High Speed printing modes enables the user to optimize the printing process according to the specific quality and timing requirements of individual application.

High Quality mode prints 16 micron (0.0006in) layers with a resolution of 600(X) by 300(Y) dpi.

High Speed prints 30 micron (0.0012in) layers at the same resolution.

With dual material cartridges, each holding 2kg of material, the Eden250 is designed for high productivity with a low level of operator intervention.

The PolyLog materials management system ensures optimal material usage.

All FullCure and Vero material cartridges are easily installed and removed through a frontloading door.

With clean, no-contact material handling, and no special power or operating requirements, the Eden250 - like all Objet systems - is ideally suited for any office environment.

* Extensive Choice of materials - the Eden250 supports four different model materials - FullCure 720 transparent, VeroBlue, VeroWhite and VeroBlack.

The system also supports the universal FullCure Support material.

This wide choice of materials enables a broad range of applications as it means users can produce models and parts with varying properties, in terms of flexibility, elongation at break, and colour.

The same high accuracy, detail and surface quality are attained regardless of material choice.

Nigel Bunt - joint managing director of HK Technologies said: "This is a further example of the development of Objet and now provides for an extensive range of products to cover the requirements of the RP market.

It also enables HK Technologies to further develop the penetration of Objet sales, which were the highest ever in 2005." * About HK Technologies - HK Technologies is a leading provider of machine tools and offers the latest technological products and solutions to the manufacturing industry.
