A die sinking EDM machine's 64-bit CNC with 100MB program memory combines NC functionality with PC convenience and offers excellent surface qualities and high process safety.

The EA12-V die sinking eroding system was presented, by Mitsubishi Electric, for the first time in Dusseldorf, Germany, during the METAV 2006 fair.

This all-round machine presents high levels of technology such as a 64-bit CNC control system.

The control system is equipped with a 100MB NC programme memory combining the advantages of NC with the functionality and user comfort of a PC.

Furthermore, the extremely quick system allows an overall decrease in reaction times to changing conditions in the eroding process.

The results of this are excellent surface qualities and high process safety.

Moreover, the new FP80V generator has already become the standard for spark eroding.

The same applies to the very strong and long-life machine design, as well as the circulation system with its working tank that can be lowered.

For beginners in eroding technology the system offers the easiest operation and programming at a PC level.

The newly designed TFT panel has a 10.4in LCD colour display for clear and easy reading making it ideal for first time users.

Furthermore, the open control structure allows trouble-free DNC linking, and the integration of the eroding system into a company network is also trouble-free.

The system design of the dialogue screens between the user and system, the two- and three-dimensional displays as well as the fully automatic technology management set a new standard in user-friendly operation.

* 'One step ahead' in technology - nevertheless, this flexibility does not imply any loss of precision and economy.

For example, the FPII 80V generator still allows essential time savings during the finishing process' and ESPER, for example, provides automatic program generation using artificial intelligence.

With this, processing parameters are selected automatically using simple specifications.

As many users already know, Mitsubishi Electric does not restrict the development of eroding systems to the basic elements.

The EA12-V, for example, brings enormous innovation with new process technologies such as FUZZY PRO 2, where efficiency for big surfaces and finish processing can easily be achieved.

Beyond that, the EA12-V ensures increases in processing speeds by using 'Optimum Jump' and 'Expert Rip' functions as well as the automatic modification of basis technology and parameter displays.

In addition the EA12-V supports the automatic acquisition of processing surface data and optimum generator settings to create the finest surfaces by using Mitsubishi's 'Satin Finishing' process.
