Wire-EDM cuts with high parallelism
Latest wire-EDM with Anti-Electrolysis generator is now digitally managed enabling it to control the vertical position of sparking to achieve highest parallelism on the workpiece.
At the EMO 2007 exhibition, Mitsubishi Electric will show the FA-S Advance series comprising of the FA10-S Advance and FA20-S advance The machines feature user-friendly operation and reliability of a new CNC controller with 15in touch screen

It doesn't always have to be a gantry solution where CNC lathe automation flexibility is concerned, here isa fully automated piece handling station in an extremely small space.
Wire EDM productivity raised to new heights
Modern wire cut EDM achieves the highest possible productivity through dramatically increased cutting rates up to 500mm3/min and reductions of up to 40% in power consumption.
The controller features complete machine documentation as well as maintenance instructions.
The machines' Anti-Electrolysis (AE) generator is now digitally managed enabling it to control the vertical position of sparking to achieve highest parallelism on the workpiece.
A 3D component has also been added to the PowerMaster (automatic adaptive generator control), which allows advanced eroding of steps or interruptions on the workpiece.

Mitsubishi Electric Europe has concluded a three-year partnership agreement with Sauber Petronas, the German Formula 1 Team, to supply wire-cut and die sinking systems.
Wire EDM provides surface finish levels
Wire EDM provides surface finish levels of up to 0.25 micron Ra and reaches speeds up to 360mm2/min with an increase in performance of up to 30% over previous levels.
Available as an option is the Digital Fine Surface generator (Digital FS), which allows surface qualities up to 0.1 micron Ra to be reached.
There is also the option of the V-Generator, which can be combined with Digital FS to reach the highest cutting rates.
As well as the FA-S Advance, Mitsubishi Electric will also show its new wire-EDM called the BA8.
Occupying only a small 'footprint', the fully equipped for submerged machining.
The BA8 is equipped with a proven 64bit CNC controller (including Ethernet interface) and has all the features one would expect from a 'big machine'.
The BA8's improved and simplified 'AT' wire-feeding unit and can accommodate wire diameters from 0.1 to 0.3mm.
The wire drive unit has a large dimensioned wire tension roller, which reduces maintenance times and improves the reliability of the system, especially when feeding thin wires.
The BA8 is also designed and prepared for a range of flexible automation options offered by Mitsubishi Electric, for example, operating with the 6-axis MELFA RV12-SL robot .
