Habasit Rossi has developed a folder-gluer system which ensures high folding quality and productivity for the paper handling and mailing industries.

Machine speed, flexibility, high performance and complete reliability are essential in the high-pressure converting, paper handling and mailing industries A folder-gluer system from Habasit Rossi, the Habasit Habidur range, guarantees a high and constant grip, whilst comfortably handling fast speeds, different materials and production jobs

They also ensure high folding quality and productivity.

The polyamide S-10/30, S-10/40 and S-18/60 folder-gluer belts with Habidur covers are durable, providing excellent performance, even with reversed bendings and small pulley diameters.

The traction layer also provides robustness.

The excellent resistance of Habidur provides good abrasion resistance, high and constant grip over the belt's lifetime and no glazing out.

The belts do not need to be re-adjusted and they have optimised traction layers combining flexibility, dimensional stability and robustness.

Those features guarantee long belt life, reliability, high folding quality and outstanding productivity.

Habasit has also applied its Habidur covers to its range of polyester folder-gluer belts.

The HC-14/30D, HC-14/40D, HC-14/50D and HC-18/60D belts have a traction layer of one PET fabric, which is embedded between two thermoplastic foils.

This ensures flexibility and robustness.

The joint zone and belt are entirely homogeneous and are covered with the same Habidur layers as the polyamide folder-gluer belts.

The HC-types offer the thickest rubber covers in their belt class, according to Habasit.

Other manufacturers' belts have thin rubber covers applied on thick TPU layers.

As soon as the rubber is worn off, the belts dramatically lose grip and performance.

Traditionally, folder-gluer belts consist of a polyamide traction layer, rubber covers and they are joined at the ends with glue, which can be time-consuming.

However, with Habasit's flexproof adhesive-free method, the belts are quickly and reliably conjoined, even by relatively untrained personnel.

The joining can even be done directly on the machine to avoid disassembly, which reduces downtime and costs.

Habasit Rossi Industry Manager for Paper and Print, Jim Dowell, commented: "Choosing the right belt and the right supplier are central to any successful operation involving printing, finishing, converting and sorting machines.

Habasit products are known for excellent quality and reliability and the latest folder-gluer belts further endorse our reputation".

Habasit is the market leader in the printing and paper industry and also holds a leading position in the postal business for mail sorting.
