Flexible oil hole drilling in
crankshafts
By modifying a Mach 1 twin-spindle machining centre, Honsberg Lamb is now able to drill a variety of oil holes in different types of automotive crankshaft.
By combining the linear axes of a modified Mach 1, twin-spindle machining centre with the rotary axis of an NC rotary table, Honsberg Lamb has devised a flexible system for machining oil holes, at different attitudes in different types of automotive crankshaft The two horizontal spindles are arranged one above the other and pick up pairs of drills and bush guides from a tool magazine for deep hole drilling
