UK manufacturer or precision, superabrasive grinding and gear cutting machines, Holroyd Edgetek, has been acquired by the Precision Technologies Group.
The management team of Holroyd Edgetek are delighted to announce that on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, the company was acquired by the Precision Technologies Group The acquisition was backed by Venture Private Equity (VPE) and Ferranti Capital

The winning of a major contract to manufacture three of the biggest sets of screw compressor rotors ever made by Holroyd is testing even this company's knowledge and experience to the limit.
The deal involved the acquisition of the former Renold Precision technologies Division that consisted of Jones and Shipman (J and S - a manufacturer of precision grinding machines), Edgetek (a manufacturer of superabrasive machine tools) and Holroyd (a manufacturer of specialist rotors and gear cutting machine tools).
At a December, 2006, management meeting held at Holroyd/Edgetek, VPE and Ferranti outlined their plans to develop an international group of precision machine tool manufacturing companies.
VPE and Ferranti specialise in investing and developing precision engineering and manufacturing companies.
Ferranti's investment model also involves the merger of western and Chinese businesses to create leading global companies that are capable of dominating their market sectors.
Adrian de Ferranti of Ferranti Capital mentioned: "We are extremely pleased to acquire Holroyd Edgetek and and to be the owner of such well respected and technologically leading brands.
We plan to grow and develop the Holroyd Edgetek business and strengthen their position in international high growth markets.".
