Vomat filter improves Premier's surface finishes

Premier Form Tools has recently bought a Vomat filtration system from Hirschmann Engineering to service two hi-throughput five-axis Schneeberger Grinders.

Premier is a cutting-tool designer and manufacturer and supplies thread-milling tools, single-point threading inserts, form tools and special inserts to carbide cutting-tool companies.

Roger Sprules, managing partner of Premier Form Tools, said: 'The improved efficiency of the Vomat system in removing contaminates from our coolant has extended the life of our coolant and helped improve the surface finish of our products.

'The new unit has created a much cleaner working environment for our operators, grinding wheel wear has been radically reduced and we now spend a lot less time dressing our grinding wheels.
