"Many staff have been with the company now for over 10 years, which I feel is the main factor in the company's success - people get a chance to prove themselves at Halsteads." Vynck added: "My role has changed from a multi-drop delivery driver to a customer focused service envoy dedicated to certain accounts.
Customer service is very important.
"They are a good team to work with, from the MD down." The company supplies a full range of components, fasteners and consumables to blue-chip manufacturing and engineering companies in the UK, using the Japanese-originated Kanban system.
Kanban is a simple purpose built stock control system, which is typically located on the factory floor.
The rack system carries parts, such as screws, batteries, drills and gloves, in bins to exact customer orders.
The bins are replenished by a Henry Halstead support team, which carry out weekly, sometimes daily, customer visits.
As the system is automated, it increases efficiency and profitability.
Sourcing parts world-wide, Henry Halstead stock over 40,000 products, held at its Preston and Sunderland sites.
From both locations, Henry Halstead employs 63 people.
Its clients include Baxi, Stoves, Dennis Eagle, Alstom, Marconi, Willerby Holiday Homes and Silentnight.
Director, Mike McHugh, said: "Andy and Mick have been invaluable members of the team and we are delighted to recognise their efforts and loyalty over the years in the form of a long service award.
"Henry Halstead enjoys year on year growth because of the first class service we provide and much of the credit must go to our people.".
