New employees integrated into existing 2,200 person workforce at Hiberian Insurance using OrgPlus visualisation

Building on its current use of OrgPlus organisational charting software from HumanConcepts, Hibernian Insurance used the OrgPlus visualisation and scenario planning capabilities for its successful merger with Ark Life, an AlB life insurance subsidiary.

The software helped to integrate new employees into its existing 2,200 person workforce and streamline the new lines of business following a Joint Venture with AIB.

The Hibernian Group, which includes Hibernian General Insurance and Hibernian Life and Pensions is one of Ireland's largest and most successful organisations.

Its services include general insurance, risk management, pensions, life assurance and personal finance.

The Hibernian Group serves more than one million customers and employs staff in excess of 2,200 people across Ireland with principal offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway.

The merger posed a restructuring challenge for Hibernian, and OrgPlus was chosen to facilitate this significant strategic effort.

HR data from Hibernian's Oracle HRMS hierarchy was used to automatically populate organisation charts in OrgPlus ensuring that the most up-to-date information was being used.

Hibernian's human resources department then modelled the workforce and carried out "what-if" analyses to create visual representations of possible new company structures.

Senior executives viewed the various organisational hierarchies in line with cost centres in order to fully understand their implications before any re-organisation actually took place.

OrgPlus organisational charts also added important value for the Group Property and Procurement department, the team which oversaw the physical move into Hibernian's new offices.

OrgPlus org charts effectively "mapped" the employee locations and were then used to communicate the floor plans to the property engineers.
